Sending a Fax from Google mail
1. Create a new email
2. In the recipients field (To), enter the fax number in the following way:
recipient's_fax_number@fax.harding.edu
In the above, recipient's_fax_number is the full fax number of the recipient to which you are addressing a fax.
- Enter a full 10 digit number for on campus faxes (e.g. 5012794000)
- Add a "9" and "1" for off-campus long distance faxing (e.g.915012794000)
3. Enter a subject and type the message as you would do for any email. Both subject and message will be displayed on the coversheet of your fax.
Note: Plain Text, HTML formats and embedded images are supported in the message body for outgoing faxes.
4. Add attachments that will constitute the pages of the fax
- Attachments can be numerous types of documents like MS Office files, TXT, RTF, PDF, JPG or TIF.
5. Send the fax as you would send any email.
6. The Fax is sent and the sender should receive an email notification that it was sent successfully.
7. All Faxes will appear as completely normal faxed documents on the receiving end, and the receiver will have no idea you did not send your fax from a standard fax machine.
