Please follow these guidelines:

  1. Remember and address the audience for their understanding, i.e. keep technical jargon within internal articles and even then be careful.
  2. Don't reference a specific client or incident.
  3. Instructions should be in numbered steps
  4. Use correct names for products.  But also include commonly used names like Appworx, so use "Applications Manager (previously known as Appworx)"
  5. Define any acronyms used   

In creating the article:

  1. Use a descriptive Subject
  2. Use this template for the Body
  3. Provide a Summary for use in lists that don't display the description
  4. Provide Tags as appropriate (tags are single words and you can enter multiples by pressing enter between them)
  5. Choose Approved for the Status
  6. Check the Published to KB box
  7. Choose a year in the future for the Next Review Date unless it should be sooner.
  8. The Owner should be you unless you are a student technician in which case it should be your supervisor.
  9. Check Notify Owner on Feedback.

If you are copying an article from Kenobi:

  1. Some of the formatting may come through appropriately.  If not, you may want to paste it into a text editor and then copy it from the text editor.  That should remove the formatting from Kenobi.
  2. At the top of the TDX  article, insert "(copied from Kenobi on <date>)"
  3. Edit the Kenobi article and insert "(copied to TecHU on <date>)" in Heading 3 and red font.
  4. Click the small open padlock beside the breadcrumbs and choose Editing Restricted and Save.
