Harding University Google Accounts – What to Know & FAQ

How long do I get to keep my Harding University Google Account?

Currently you can keep your Harding University Google account until it becomes dormant, you use too much storage, or some action occurs that causes the University to remove your access.

Why is my storage in my Google account being limited?

When Harding began using Google in 2007, their storage structure was unlimited for all education users.  We were not limited on the number of users or storage space.   Google has announced they are changing that.   Beginning soon, Google will be limiting all Harding accounts to “shared” storage and put a limit on the total space we can use.  There will no longer be an unlimited option and it is not financially feasible for Harding to pay to increase the storage enough to continue using the current amount of storage.  By limiting the storage used, we will be able to manage our storage capacity allotted by Google.

Soon, Google is going to make a quota system available and we will be using it to help control the storage used.  More information will be posted here when that is in place.

Will my account be deleted?

If your account is one of the few that is using enough storage to cause issues, you will be notified of that fact and asked to reduce your storage/

You will have 30 days to reduce your storage usage.  If, after that time, your account is still over the storage limit, it will be deleted.

How do I get my information out of my account before it is deleted?

Google offers two different ways to retain your information.
