Recently, Google has made changes to Harding’s Google Workspace account that will limit our storage space. We will be moved from unlimited storage for Email, Drive, Photos and other applications to a “shared” storage limit for the whole University.
Because of this, we plan to implement quotas on individual accounts. Should you need help achieving that quota, Google offers a way to transfer your Harding email and Drive files to another account. Instructions can be found here: https://takeout.google.com/transfer
Things to know about the TRANSFER option:
- You can only transfer your Email and Drive files
- This does NOT include Photos, Contacts, Chats or Tasks
- This option transfers ALL email and/or ALL drive files – you cannot choose which ones to transfer
- This option only allows transferring content to an @gmail.com account
- Please note: a personal Gmail account has a storage limit of 15 GB for all applications. Use caution if your @harding.edu account uses more than 15 GB of storage
If you prefer, you can “download” your Harding Google content. Instructions can be found here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3024190?hl=en
Things to know about the DOWNLOAD option:
- You can choose which content you would like to move – you do not have to move all your email and/or all your Drive files – you may choose which ones to move
- This option creates a “zipped archive” of your data that will need to be uploaded and processed
- While this option provides more flexibility, you will need to “unzip” your data, upload it and process it, depending on the application
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
